Privacy Policy

If provided by you, your email address may be retained electronically. Any information volunteered by you, such as survey information and/or site registrations may also be retained in a database. The information we collect is used to both serve you and to generally improve the content of our web pages. 

If you supply us with your postal address via on-line entry, you will only receive the information for which you provided us your address. 

We do not provide the information collected about our visitors via our web pages to anyone outside the Howard County Government for commercial purposes. 

On some of our web pages you are given an opportunity to add your email address to an electronic mailing list. To remove your name from any such list you have joined, you may refer to the web page(s) on which you provided your email address to receive instructions on how to do so. 

With respect to secure collection of sensitive information such as financial data, credit card numbers, etc., you will be directed to pages that use a secure server connection. Depending on your browser, most often an iconic image of a locked padlock will appear on the bottom line of your browser window to indicate this condition. 

From time to time, we may use visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will update this online "privacy web page" to reflect our new practices.
