The Board of License Commissioners will meet on Monday, June 1, 2020 @ 4:00 p.m. to consider amending Liquor Board Rule 2.19, Extension of Premises and Condition #3 of the current BLC Resolution adopted on April 20, 2020 pertaining to service of alcoholic beverages in outdoor seating. Any comments can be submitted to liquoradmin@howardcountymd.com by Monday, June 1 @ noon.

 

 

Liquor Board Rule 2.19 – Extension of Premises (Amendment in Red)

 

Application for the extension of a licensed premises shall be considered after public notice and hearing using the same criteria as in the case of a new application.  During the current state of emergency related to COVID-19, Licensees may apply for a temporary extension of premises for on premises consumption in an outdoor seating area on a form provided by Howard County without the requirement of public notice, public hearing, nor liquor board application. 

 

Amended Condition #3

 

3.    A licensee with current approval to serve alcoholic beverages in outdoor seating areas may serve alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption in outdoor seating areas.  A licensee that does not have current approval to serve alcohol beverages in outdoor seating areas for on premises consumption may apply for a temporary extension of premises, consistent with the amended Howard County Rule 2.19.  A licensee may sell alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption, provided the alcoholic beverages are promptly removed from the premises. This Resolution does not change the types of alcoholic beverages that a particular licensee may sell.
