The Office of Transportation developed a web-based interactive map for the MD 99 Corridor Investigation Report.
The State Highway Administration (SHA) recently revised the signal timing on MD 99 at US 29 and Rogers Avenue to address safety concerns involving westbound left-turners and the eastbound traffic. The speed limit on MD 99 was also reduced from 50 mph to 40 mph. SHA also approved exclusive left-turn phasing at MD 99 and Woodstock Road for traffic and safety reasons. MDOT SHA is currently working to fund and schedule the exclusive left-turn phasing project on MD 99 this year.
SHA will be trimming brush and trees and installing additional signage along MD 99 over the summer to mitigate sight distance issues at the existing stop-controlled intersections.
