Council Resolution 8-2014 established the Howard County Task Force on Human Trafficking. The task force is directed to research the development of protocols, community outreach efforts, training efforts, and partnerships to help increase the identification of human trafficking victims in the County.
Under the County Charter, the Council is required to establish a Compensation Review Commission in the year before an election year to submit recommendations to the Council relative to compensation for Council members and the County Executive in the following four-year term.
On November 7, 2016, Council Chairman Calvin Ball introduced CR 180-2016, calling on the Human Rights Commission to study the recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion practices of the Howard County Government.
Council Resolution 39-2014 created a task force to study standards and related parking issues for locating fueling stations and to recommend standards for locating facilities.
